Be nice

 

My life isn’t all that interesting. I don’t have any neat stories to tell or deep life changing moments. What I can tell you is this, I believe in being nice. I know people have different perspectives on what it means to be nice, but to me it just means holding the door for someone. It means asking a friend how their day is going. It means suppressing your need to criticize or judge others. I believe that making enemies doesn’t do anybody any good and that burning bridges just sets one back in life.

In life, you never know how big of an impact the people you meet could have. You never know which people encountered could end up being a boss, an important client, or the one to introduce you to someone else who could make a big impact in your life. I believe it is important to do your best to get along with people, despite differences. Everyone is unique and different in their own way, and that is something to be respected. 

Being nice has more potential than you would think. I know what it is like to be in a good mood, just because of someone else’s action. In most cases I was given more help than was necessary and more than I deserved. I’m very grateful for all that I have been given, and I am willing to show the same kindness that has been given to me.
